The Palace of Winds, Jaipur.

Seng Mah

The Hawa Mahal palace was built to be an opulent screen, an extension to the womenโ€™s chambers of the City Palace during the reign of Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Through this ornate architectural veil, women of the royal household could view the world outside and enjoy the cool breezes wafting through, without being seen, thus preserving their beauty and modesty for eternity. What faces hid behind the turquoise window is now lost in the mist of history.
