Nubra Valley, Ladakh.
Afternoon light fades into the gloaming in the high altitude Nubra Valley in Ladakh, which is about 3000 metres above sea level. In the distant past the valley was part of the Silk Road, connecting India and Tibet with China. Today, camel trains still ply the ancient paths but they now carry tourists instead of silk and spices.
